Monday Round Robin Tournaments

The Monday Round Robin tournaments are small events aimed at good players looking for some fun competition. Up to 16 players compete in a round robin format, followed by single-elimination playoffs to determine the winner. The top four finishers receive cash prizes, taken from the entry fees. This is non-sanctioned event - match results will not affect players' USATT ratings. NJTTC membership is required.

Rules

  • Registration is first-come, first-served. Once 16 players have registered, additional registrations will be added to a waiting list, in case a registered player decides to drop out.
  • Registrations can be cancelled by email up to the day before the tournament (Sunday) with no penalty. Players who cancel on the day of the tournament, or who don't show up, will not be allowed to register for the next 2 tournaments.
  • The entry fee is $8 cash, payable at the door.
  • Sign-in is at 7:45 pm. Matches will start at 8:00 pm sharp.
  • Players will be seeded into 4 round robin groups based on their USATT ratings. The winner of each group will advance to the single-elimination phase.
  • Three-way ties and other special situations will be resolved following regular USATT tournament rules.
  • The total prize money will be 60% of the total entry fees collected, rounded up or down to the nearest $10, but no less than $40. For example, if 16 players register, the total prize money will be $80.
  • The prize money will be distributed to top four finishers as follows: 50% to the winner, 25% to the runner-up, 15% to the 3rd-place finisher, and 10% to the 4th-place finisher. (See the table below.)
